How to Prepare Your NYC Apartment for Painters
A short checklist that helps your painting day go smoothly and keeps your belongings safe.
Before the painters arrive
- Move small items, decor and fragile pieces out of the rooms being painted.
- Take art and mirrors off the walls. We can handle hanging hardware if you ask.
- Clear the area around the walls so crews can reach edges and corners.
- Tell your building management the painting dates so elevator and access are arranged.
What we take care of
- We cover floors and furniture and tape off edges.
- We repair small holes and cracks as part of the prep.
- We tidy as we go and leave the space clean when we finish.
After painting
- Ask us how long the paint needs before you hang art or push furniture against walls.
- Keep windows open for ventilation while paint cures.
